Group Meeting:  The question for today was "Do you like toast?"  The children told me how to make toast and what they liked to put on toast.  Butter and jelly were the favorites, but peanut butter and cinnamon sugar were also mentioned.

Small Groups:  Instead of small groups, we watched two short videos about bread around the world.  There are so many different kinds of bread.  I hope we get to try a few of them during our study.

Story:  The story for today was Everybody Bakes Bread by Norah Dooley.  Because this book is rather long, we read half of the story today.  Carrie is baking bread with her mother and little brother.  When her brother starts to bother her, mom sends Carrie on an errand to see if any of her neighbors have a three handled rolling pin.  As Carrie visits her neighbors, she discovers that they are all making some kind of bread; coconut bread, flat bread, corn bread, and pocket bread.  Will Carrie find the three handled rolling pin?  We'll read the rest on Monday to find out!

Large Group:  The Yellow Group brought show and tell items to share.

Letter Learning:  The letter for today was Tt.

Snacks:  The morning snack person was Ben.  He brought Cheez-its and juice.  The afternoon snack person was Aiden.  He brought bagels, cream cheese, and juice.  Thank you, Ben and Aiden!

All of the children have notes in their backpacks concerning Bring a Grown-up to School Day which will be held next Thursday!
