Group Meeting: Yesterday, I read the story Peeny Butter Fudge and promised the children that I would make Peeny Butter Fudge at home and bring it today for us to try. So, we watched a read aloud of the story again, and after snacks we tried a little fudge. I got a lot of thumbs up from the kids, so I think they liked it :)
Small Groups: Today was the last rotation of the activities for group time. See Monday's post to find the activities. Today's schedule was:
Activity #1 Green Group
Activity #2 Red Group
Activity #3 Yellow Group
Story: Today, we began a reading program that is called "Read It Again, PreK". This curriculum is made up of a number of books that are read two times along with activities to help encourage literacy development. The story for today was Clifford Goes to School by Norman Bridwell. Clifford is a very good dog, but Emily Elizabeth's aunt thinks that he needs to go to dog school. Because he is so large, Emily Elizabeth's aunt offers to train him herself. She finds out that it's not so easy training a dog as big as Clifford. Our vocabulary words were begging and heel. Clifford was good at begging, but he had to learn to heel. Ask your child to tell you what those words mean.
Large Group: Today, we learned how to draw Mat Man. We used the chalkboard to draw him. Following the musical instructions, we drew the pieces one at a time until he was complete. Tomorrow, we will try to draw him in our Writing and Drawing Journals.
Snacks: The snack person for the morning class was Graham. He brought yogurt and juice. The afternoon snack person was Colin. He brought cheese, graham crackers, and juice. Thank you!
We'd love your peeny butter fudge recipe!
