Group Meeting:  As the children were arriving at school today, we learned to play Simon Says.  We followed a video on the Promethean board to give us the instructions.  Simon Says is a great listening activity.

Small Groups:  The activities for this week's small groups are listed in yesterday's post.  Our schedule for today was:

Story:  The story for today was Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault.  The letters of the alphabet are climbing up the coconut tree.  Will there be enough room for them all?  Ask your child to tell you what happens.
Before we read this story, we talked about the title.  What does the title of the book tell us?  Why does a book have a title?  Throughout the year, we will be learning about the parts of a book.

Large Group:  The children learned the song "The Ant, the Bug and the Bee"  from the Handwriting Without Tears curriculum.  The children colored a picture of the insects following a color key.

Snacks:  The snack person for the morning class was Jackson.  He brought bagels, peanut butter, and juice.  The snack person for the afternoon was Freyja.  She brought bread, cheese, and juice.  Thank you!
