What a busy day!

Group Meeting:  Today was Birthday Day.  On this special day, the children make their own snacks.  We have Birthday Brownies to help celebrate the birthdays in the month.  The morning class didn't have a birthday, but we didn't let that stop us.  The afternoon class celebrated Paxton's birthday.

Small Groups:  The children followed a recipe to create a Cinnamon Sugar Biscuit.  They took a Pillsbury refrigerator biscuit, dipped it in butter, dipped it in cinnamon sugar and placed it on a piece of aluminum foil that had their name printed on it.  I baked them in the oven for 7 minutes.  They were delicious.

Story:  Today, I re-read the story Clifford Goes to Dog School by Norman Bridwell.  Before reading the story, I told the children that two words that end with the same sound are rhyming words.  I used pictures of a dog, frog, hog, and log to help us practice making rhyming words.  After the story, we reviewed our vocabulary words from yesterday.

Large Group:  The children drew Mat Man on a little chalk board of their own.  I've included some pictures below.  We also completed a Let's Find Out magazine about school rules.

Snacks:  The children enjoyed the Cinnamon Sugar Biscuits with milk and Birthday Brownies.
