Small Groups: The list of activities for this week is listed in Monday's post.
Story: At story time, I read My Many Colored Days by Dr. Seuss. In this book, Dr. Seuss uses colors and animals to describe feelings that we all have throughout our day. On a blue day, I feel like a bird flying through the sky. On a brown day, I feel low down. The illustrations in this book are painted by Steve Johnson and Lou Fancher, and therefore, this book doesn't look like the typical "Dr. Seuss" book. But, the pictures are beautiful and reflect the feelings of the author.
Large Group: The children conducted a science experiment using milk, liquid water color, and soap. We poured milk into a pie tin and added the liquid water color using tiny drops so that the color wouldn't spread. Then, the children dipped a Q-tip into dish soap and touched the milk. Ask your child to tell you what happened to the colors and why it happened.
Snacks: The morning class had bagels, cream cheese, and juice brought by Tula. The afternoon class had graham crackers and milk brought by Paxton. Thank you, Tula and Paxton!
