Group Meeting:  During Group Meeting, the children who have returned their reading papers put a scoop of ice cream on the bulletin board.  I read the story The Mixed-Up Chameleon by Eric Carle.

Small Groups:  Our Let's Find Out magazine was about Spring.  The video we watched was about the sounds that we hear during Spring.

Story:  I read The Very Quiet Cricket by Eric Carle.  A baby cricket has hatched from an egg.  It wanders about meeting other bugs.  The bugs tell him hello.  He tries to answer by rubbing his wings together, but he doesn't make a sound.  Finally, he meets another cricket.   This time, he rubs his legs together and makes the most wonderful sound.  (This book has a sound chip in it.  On the last page, you hear the cricket sound.)

Large Group:  Eric Carle has written many books about bugs.  We played a bug "hide and seek" game.  After finding all of the hidden bugs, we sorted them into categories.  The children thought of sorting them by color and by type of bug.

Letter Learning:  The letter for today was Uu.  This completes the third round of the alphabet.

Snacks:  The morning class had cheese sticks, Teddy Grahams, and juice brought by Khloe.  The afternoon class had Goldfish and juice brought by Liam.  Thank you, Khloe and Liam!
