Group Meeting:  I read Mouse Shapes by Ellen Stoll Walsh.  In this book, the mice are hiding from the cat in a pile of shapes.  One of the mice notices that they can use the shapes to make pictures.  They make a house, tree, and sun.  They discover that they can use the shapes to make big mice that will scare the cat.

Small Groups:  The children played a game using a mouse picture from the story Mouse Shapes.  To play the game, the children took turns rolling a dice.  Using a key that came with their picture, they had to find which shape to color.  For example, if they rolled a one, they had to color the circles.  If they rolled a two, they had to color the rectangles.  The game was complete when their mouse was colored.

Story:  At story time, I read Dot and Jabber and the Mystery of the Missing Stream by Ellen Stoll Walsh.  Dot and Jabber are mice detectives.  One night after a storm, they discover that the water is missing from the stream.  They look for clues and question their animal friends to find the missing water.  Ask your child to tell you why the water was missing.

Large Group:  The children went to the Outdoor Classroom.

Snacks:  The morning class had Penguin crackers and juice brought by Brooke S.  The afternoon class had bananas and milk brought by Brody.  Thank you, Brooke and Brody!
