Can Turkey's Fly?

Group Meeting:  I asked the children if they thought that turkeys could fly.  They can, but not very far.  We decided to try an experiment.  We put Styrofoam balls in the wind tunnel to see if they would go up.  They did not.  We added feathers to the ball and guess what?  I managed to get a few pictures of what happened.

Small Groups:  The activities for this week are listed in Monday's post.  The schedule for today was:

Story:  The story for today was The Way I Feel by Janan Cain.  This is a book of feelings.  Following the story, we defined some vocabulary words that were in the book.  They were frown, shaking, soaring, drags, and growl.  We used the pictures in the book to help us come up with a definition.

Large Group:  The morning class had just enough time to complete a Let's Find Out magazine about the upcoming Veteran's Day holiday.  The afternoon class will squeeze that in tomorrow.

Letter Learning:  The letter for today was Yy.

Snacks:  The morning class snack person was Khloe.  She brought Teddy Grahams and juice.  The afternoon snack person was Luke.  He brought apples, cheese, and milk.  Thank you, Khloe and Luke!
